The great American inventor, Thomas Edison, was a workaholic when it came to inventing. He had more inventions registered with the U.S. Patent Office than anyone else.

He was also a perfectionist. He would not release an invention to the public until he had all the bugs worked out of it.

The story goes that when Edison was working on his idea for the light bulb, he registered over 2,000 patents for it until he got it just right.

Years later, an interviewer asked him how it felt to have failed over 2,000 times, to which Edison replied, "I never failed once. I invented the light bulb. It just happened to be a 2,000 step process. ~ Thomas Edison
